Manufactured by Ajanta Pharma, BIMAT eye drops is prostaglandin that is used for the treatment of increased fluid pressure in the eyes and open-angle Glaucoma, a progressive condition that may eventually lead to vision loss.
This medicine is used to treat the inadequate amount of eyelashes, also called hypotrichosis. It increases the length, thickness and darkness of the lashes.
Store this medicine in a cool and dry place and away from the reach of small children.
Pregnant women, or who are planning to become pregnant should not take this medication. It is not recommended to be used by the breastfeeding women, or who have some eye-infection, swelling, inflammation or some kind of injury.
It is advised to consult your doctor before starting to take this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to any food or drug or will be having eye surgery.
It is not advised to be used by the patients with known allergy to bimatoprost eyelash or any other inactive ingredients present with this medicine.
This form of solution is not recommended to be used if you are wearing soft contact lenses. The lenses should be removed prior to the administration of the eye drops and can be worn again after 15 minutes of application.
If bacteria contaminate this solution, then it can lead to an infection of Cornea. Patients are recommended to take all hygienic precautions to ensure that the solution is not contaminated.
Eyelash Changes and Pigmentation:
It can cause some changes in the eyelashes by using this medicine such as increased length, thickness, pigmentation and inadequate growth of eyelashes, etc. It may also change eye color by increasing the amount of brown pigment.
Use in Pediatrics:
Children below the age of 16 are not advised to use this product because of safety and efficacy.
This medicine may cause blurred vision in some patients. Thus, it is advised not to perform any such activities involving driving vehicles or operating machinery.
Follow the Bimatoprost eyelash dosage instruction strictly as told by your doctor. In case of any missed dose, skip that dose and don’t take any extra medicine to make up for the missed one. Seek emergency medical help in case of overdose.
